3/11/06 and last weekend too.

What an exciting day this should be....
I'm sure i'll spend most of it in bed, however i'll be spending the evening at subterannean (just a few blocks from my house, though i'll probably drive halfway and park somewhere on North Ave as I usually do when I head over to that "hot spot" that is the crotch of wicker park... )
Why?
WHITEHOUSE is back! Again! (They were just here 11/05/05) And opening for them is another one of my faviorite bands, Cheer-Accident. Last time the only words I had after I was stunned by whitehouse were "I finally saw whitehouse! I got choked, and Meg got molested!" And I doubt i'll have much more to say after tonights show... I can only hope that if she does in fact go to it, some fat pervert asshole won't try to finger fuck her while she's trying to enjoy who she sometimes refers to as her "favorite band" (She dosen't even like much music too begin with. Are whitehouse really even "music"?)

And for some odd reason (I think to recover from the show) I took this Sunday off of work--which works out really good-- because I signed up for this zinemaking workshop and for attending I will get $50, which will definitley help me out, as I've been hurting a little bit financially as of latley. No big deal.

I saw my life with the thrill kill kult at double door last Saturday night. I used to see them frequently (well, about once a year is when they played a show) with Joe and Dustin throughout our highschool years, and the othr night Joe baied to play video games but another longtime pal (who hadn't seen them before, only a failed attempt once) JD got us tickets in advance, which I guess was good because by the time we entered and Chris Connelly had already started his set, the show was sold out. I wouldn't have been that upset if I had showed up without a ticket and was denied entry, as I wasnt THAT excited to go... was just going to do so because I haven't seen them live in at least 4 years.... So, the show was decent, they played a lot of the old 'hits' that one should expct out of them, but I've seen them play much better shows. Jd seemed extremely pleased with it....

While I was waiting for JD to show up and deliver me my ticket I went into myopic briefly. (I had just spoken with him on the phone and it was a matter of finding parking/walking to the double door.) So I really only had time to quickly browse the new buyback book piles (nothing that interesting by the quick run through) and time enough to check right by the counter, where they keep the 'hip' stuff that I'm sure would be stolen if left anywhere else. I picked up Henry Rollins book "Art to Choke Hearts/Pissing in the Gene Pool" I know I've criticized him to some before mentioning that I sort of feel like he "tries too hard", but as I browsed through it I liked what I read, and it only ran me about $6.

Sunday morning I slept in and missed a very important appointment. I'm not going to discuss that, so i'll just mention that Sunday was hell....

Macaulay Culkin wrote a semi-autobiography (pretty weird) called "junior." I took it on loan from work, and have read a bit of it. It's sort of loose, somewhat reminds me of the 'novel' Harmony Korine did in the late 90's "A Crackup at the Race Riots" but it's really nothing like that book at all, it merley reminds me of it.
okay i'll shut up for now.
